Detecting Updates 2010
Opening Week June 13-19
The opening week of detecting at Ganes Creek
continued its steady record of success and yielded
53 nuggets, 17.68 ounces! The largest nugget
of the week was found by Bernie Pendergast,
weighing 3.24 ounces. This group, despite stormy
weather, kept very positive attitudes and were a
pleasure to have visit Ganes Creek. Our thanks go
out to everyone, and we look forward to seeing
them in the future.
Bringing home the Gold June 20-26
The second group of the summer continued to bring
home the gold, and brought in as a group 24.70 ounces!
The high marks for the week go to Buzz Rasmussen who
found a good looking 3.45 oz piece, and to Bernie
Pendergast who uncovered a solid 5.85 oz nugget.
We hope everyone enjoyed the Friday night send off, and
had a good week of detecting at Ganes Creek.
The "July Guys" June 27- July 2
The Guys from the end of June and early July found over
21 ounces of gold during their stay, including the
largest nugget of the year so far, a very clean and
solid 6.2 ounce nugget found by Buzz Rasmussen.
Buzz had himself a terrific two weeks, finding and bringing home over 17 ounces of gold! As a collective group
over 45 nuggets were found, including 6 over the one
ounce mark. This group of guys were a lot of fun and
we hope to see them in the future.
The Final Group of the Season July 18-24
The final group of 2010 finished up a very consistent season
of detecting bringing home 19.55 ounces of gold. The largest
nugget of the week weighed 3.30 ounces, and there were
seven other nuggets found that weighed over one troy ounce.
This group, despite weather that was less then enviable was a
pleasure to have visit and we look forward to seeing them at
Ganes Creek again in the future.
The 2010 season was a successful one, as visiting detectors
and the Ganes Cree crew found over a 100 ounces of gold!
The largest nuggets of the year weighed in at 6.22 ounces and
5.85 ounces, and there were also a series of nuggets found that
weighed in over the one ounce mark.
