The opportunity of a lifetime! Your chance to metal detect for large gold nuggets
on Alaska's largest, premier nugget producing creeks - Ganes Creek, Alaska.
The largest nugget found at Ganes Creek weighed 122 ounces - over ten troy
pounds!
Ganes Creek has produced over 250,000 ounces of gold... and much of that gold
includes some of the largest nuggets ever found in Alaska. Thousands of acres of
tailing piles contain nuggets lost by bucketline dredges and inefficient bulldozer
operations of the past. The chances of finding very large nuggets on Ganes Creek
with a metal detector are some of the best in Alaska. Roads and trails run the
length of the operation, making for easy access. 2007 produced 35 more ounces than 2006!
Over the last seven years over 1,270 ounces of gold were found by prospecting
metal detectors on the Ganes Creek property.

Two more Big Ones in August Completes 2008
The final week of metal detecting for 2008 came to a close with
a total find of 18.88 ounces and another wonderful group of
detectorists! Early in the week David Gurican brought in a
9.95 oz nugget, found upstream near "Bernie's Hill", and a
couple days later Peggy Vockeroth and husband Terry found
an 8.03 oz beauty in the same vicinity. Nine other nice jewelery
piece nuggets were found throughout the week.
During the 2008 season highlights included five different
nuggets that weighed in over the 8oz mark, the largest tipping
the scales at 12.15 ounces, and over 20 nuggets that weighed in
over the 1oz mark. Over the six weeks that made up the
detecting season at Ganes Creek Alaska, at total of 147.34
ounces were found!
We can not say enough nice things about the great groups of
metal detectorists that stayed with us this year. We want to
thank them for their upbeat attitudes, understanding manner,
and almost constant enthusiasm.
